Zmodo Greet HD vs. Ring 2 — Differences

Difference #1: Power Options & Installation – The are a couple of differences when it comes to setting up your brand new smart doorbell.
For example, Ring 2 is more versatile, in the sense that you have the option of hardwiring to your existing wiring or simply using the battery-operated option instead. The advantage of this is that if you decide to opt for the hardwired choice, you won’t have to worry about having to replace/recharge your battery when it runs low.
The downside is that you won’t be able to take advantage of the live view on demand mode if the Ring 2 is solely running on battery power. So if you were looking for that particular feature, and wish to have a smart doorbell that isn’t hardwired, it’s worth looking into the new option.
While Zmodo Greet HD can be only hardwired.
For both smart doorbells you’ll need transformers that operate between 16VAC and 36VAC, so be sure to check that prior.

Zmodo Greet HD includes 3 plans, The Basic, Premium, and Platinum.

Lastly, the Platinum Plan comes at 9.99 USD per month 99.90/yearly and offers 30 days of intelligent continuous recordings and playback, including all the same features from the other 2 Plans.
The Ring Pro also includes 3 plans, Free, Protect Basic, and Protect Plus. The free plan offers to include a 1-year warranty, motion-activated notifications, live-view, theft warranty, and two-way talk, all the basic features needed to set you off.
The Protect Basic takes a step further by offering you the additional option of reviewing, sharing and saving your videos, as well as the option of accessing videos of every Ring, Motion, and Live View event for up to 60 days. Zmodo Greet HD
Zmodo offers quite a few smart home additions that improve both safety, and efficiency of your home. For example, the Door/Window Sensors, inform you when your doors and windows are opened or closed, and the motion sensors will alert you when motion is detected. Keep in mind, that you’ll need to pair it with a Zmodo Beam which works as a type of WiFi extender, in order for it to integrate with your home.
Ring 2
If you still decide to mainly rely on Ring’s battery power, it’s a good idea to check out the Ring Rechargeable Battery Pack, to make sure you don’t suddenly lose power in doorbell without a backup ready to go. Although, Ring will notify you in advance about its low battery.

Zmodo Greet HD vs. Ring 2 — Our Thoughts
Overall, when it comes down to Zmodo Greet HD vs. Ring 2, we feel that Ring 2 is the better option.
For the simple reason that it offers not only more versatile power options, but also an increased field of view, IFTTT integration, as well as a more attractive subscription plan. Ring also puts heavy emphasis on your home security, with all the extra additions you can get.
While Zmodo Greet HD does provide us with other unique features such as the voice recording technology, it just doesn’t seem to be in the same ballpark as the Ring 2. Though it is a good choice if you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly.
